I was born and raised just north
of Boston, MA (where I got my New England accent) and learned early to
love the Red Sox, the ocean and seafood (not necessarily in that order).
My father was transferred to Fort Wayne in 1967 and I attended Snider
High School and college at IPFW. At that time I met some people who are
still life long friends. I was very involved in Civic Theatre and still
have some very fond memories of that time.
There was a voice inside, however, that called me back to New England. I
had intended to work with computers to be a programmer. By sheer
accident, I fell into a radio job as a part time DJ at WOTW in Nashua,
New Hampshire. It was right out of "American Graffiti" or "Hee Haw", a
tiny station with antiquated equipment. We often wondered if WOTW stood
for 'wish-our-transmitter-worked'. I found myself looking forward to
being on the radio and any thought of writing programs quickly went
away.
My wife, Christine, is my
biggest fan and I am hers. She has supported me for a very long time in
some of our craziest endeavors. We have some very funny radio and DJ
stories. The first party still continues to this day. I still own and
operate my own music and DJ service. We really enjoy being associated
with the people at WLDE and look forward to the next party. |
